The Mosel is one of the world’s most celebrated Riesling regions, known for producing wines of remarkable elegance and precision. This Kabinett style offers vibrant aromas of green apple, citrus blossom, and white peach layered over the region’s signature slate minerality. A touch of natural sweetness is beautifully balanced by crisp acidity, creating a wine that feels refreshing rather than sweet. It is an excellent introduction to why Mosel Riesling remains one of the most beloved white wines in the world.
While the Mosel is famous for delicacy, the Rheingau often produces Rieslings with a bit more structure and depth. This wine showcases ripe stone fruit, citrus, and floral aromas alongside a richer texture. The balance between fruit, acidity, and minerality creates a beautifully harmonious wine. Tasting it alongside the Mosel Riesling offers a fascinating comparison between two iconic German wine regions.
Mendocino’s cool climate provides ideal conditions for Sauvignon Blanc, allowing the grape to retain its freshness and vibrant aromatics. Expect bright notes of grapefruit, lime zest, and tropical fruits accented by subtle herbal nuances. The wine is crisp and energetic on the palate with a clean, refreshing finish. It perfectly captures the lively character that has made California Sauvignon Blanc increasingly popular.
Chablis is one of the purest expressions of Chardonnay found anywhere in the world. Produced without heavy oak influence, this wine highlights fresh citrus, green apple, and distinctive mineral characteristics derived from Burgundy’s ancient limestone soils. The palate is crisp, focused, and exceptionally food-friendly. It offers a wonderful contrast to many richer styles of Chardonnay and remains a benchmark for elegance and restraint.
This beautifully crafted rosé showcases the versatility of Pinot Noir grown in southern Oregon. Aromas of strawberry, watermelon, and rose petals lead into a bright, refreshing palate with lively acidity. The wine strikes an ideal balance between fruit expression and crispness. It’s a perfect warm-weather wine that demonstrates why Oregon continues to earn acclaim for Pinot Noir in all its forms.
Carneros sits at the crossroads of Sonoma and Napa, benefiting from cooling influences from San Pablo Bay. This Pinot Noir displays classic aromas of cherry, raspberry, baking spice, and subtle earthiness. Silky tannins and balanced acidity create an elegant, approachable style. It serves as a wonderful example of how California can produce Pinot Noir with both richness and finesse.
Named after the four-horse chariots of ancient Rome, Quadriga combines several grape varieties into a harmonious and complex blend. Rich dark fruit flavors are layered with notes of spice, cocoa, and subtle oak influence. The wine offers both structure and approachability, making it versatile and enjoyable. It demonstrates the creativity and quality that have become hallmarks of Mendocino winemaking.
This distinctive Zinfandel comes from one of California’s historic but often overlooked wine regions. Bold aromas of blackberry, plum, black pepper, and baking spices leap from the glass. The palate is rich and expressive while maintaining excellent balance and energy. It is a powerful reminder of the character and history that old-vine Zinfandel can deliver.
Our tasting concludes with a classic Cabernet Sauvignon that showcases Mendocino’s ability to produce structured yet approachable reds. Layers of black currant, blackberry, cedar, and subtle spice create depth and complexity. Firm but polished tannins provide structure while maintaining balance. It is a fitting finale that highlights the region’s growing reputation for premium Bordeaux-style varieties.
Whether you’re a longtime wine enthusiast or simply looking to expand your palate, this tasting promises a fascinating journey through diverse wine regions, grape varieties, and winemaking traditions. Paired with thoughtfully curated hors d’oeuvres and great company, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
